Fighting Blindness with VisionWalk 2013

Brightfind, a DC area web design and content management system integrator, is sponsoring VisionWalk 2013 to benefit the search to cure blindness.

VisionWalk is an annual 5K fundraiser put on by the Foundation Fighting Blindness, a nonprofit dedicated to find treatments and cures for diseases surrounding blindness, like macular degeneration, retinitis pigmentosa and Usher syndrome.

Brightfind specializes in web development for associations and nonprofits, but is committed to serving this industry in more ways than helping organizations improve their web presence.

“We’re very proud of the philanthropic culture at Brightfind,” said Lee Weinstein, president of Brightfind. “In the past year our team has helped finding the cure for cancer with the Cancer Support Community, supported our troops with the Wounded Warrior Project and 100 Entrepreneurs Project, and raised awareness for autism through the Woodrow Wilson Bridge half marathon.”

Since its start in 2006, VisionWalk has raised over $28M through 100,000 walkers and 51 races. This is Brightfind’s third annual sponsorship of the local DC race, which will take place on September 22nd at the Rockville Town Square. VisionWalk’s goal for this race is to raise $125,000. To date, the campaign is still looking for $29,894. To donate or register for the walk, visit the Montgomery County Race Website.
