At Brightfind we take hiring seriously. Our employees must be smart, yet willing to learn more; confident, yet willing to venture outside of their comfort zones, and ambitious, yet willing to step in to help with minute tasks. They must embrace our collaborative culture while also being able to work independently.  And when Brightfind meets such talent, we know we have to earn their employment.

  1. Stare at a blank Word document.
  2. Google how to write an RFP.
  3. Click on a shoe ad.
  4. Click back to the RFP search.
  5. Walk to get coffee.
While not the most efficient, there are two things right with my process.

Episerver’s flagship conference held in Las Vegas last week was entertaining, professional, and inspiring. However, if you attended the same conference in 2015, then you would already know that's exactly what to expect. And it’s nothing if not a learning experience, whether you’re uncovering features of the product, their strategy, or simply where we all are as an industry and a community.

Here are a few takeaways I brought back through the haze of good times and air travel.

By far the biggest and most universal concern when making any platform change for your website is, “What happens to my content?”

For developers, this question comes in a couple of distinct forms. “How do I move the content models over?” and “Where to I start?” We’re here to help answer both.

The materials and ideas reference below were presented at Episerver Ascend in Las Vegas, NV on February 28, 2017. Therefore, what you’ll find are not only code samples for how the same content can be modeled in both Ektron and Episerver, but a complete guide to building out those models (and a bit more) in Episerver.

For this article, I’ll cover first a high-level overview for how to consider your move to Episerver before getting into the specifics of the materials.

Meet James Stout, the newest hire at Brightfind. He comes with nearly 11 years’ experience with Ektron/Episerver, four as an Ektron customer and six and a half years as a Senior Manager of Technology and Developer Evangelism. Safe to say, James is the leading expert in Ektron to Episerver conversions.

Probably like you, I had a few questions for James. Without further ado, here's the scoop on Brightfind's newest in-house expert:
