In honor of World Usability Day, Brightfind teamed up with Discovery Education to hold the World Usability Summit. While my UX colleague Nina Amato and I were honored to present, I must admit, we were nervous to speak after Discovery Education and before Nielsen Norman. Being nestled in-between two huge names in the usability field is intimidating! Luckily, we were able to overcome our anxieties because we knew we were speaking about an important topic. A topic we are passionate about. A topic that, in our minds, can’t be discussed enough—accessibility.
Once upon a time, there was a kingdom called Risky, whose subjects were Risk Managers. And little did they know that a dark and evil force threatened the future happiness of their wonderful kingdom!
We are pleased to welcome Cindy Petsche as Brightfind’s new Sales Manager. Cindy joins Brightfind with more than 20 years of association experience. She began her career as a membership professional and has spent the last 10 years helping organizations choose the best technology systems to meet their goals and objectives.

At Brightfind we take hiring seriously. Our employees must be smart, yet willing to learn more; confident, yet willing to venture outside of their comfort zones, and ambitious, yet willing to step in to help with minute tasks. They must embrace our collaborative culture while also being able to work independently. And when Brightfind meets such talent, we know we have to earn their employment.
When it comes to writing RFPs, there is a process I follow:
- Stare at a blank Word document.
- Google how to write an RFP.
- Click on a shoe ad.
- Click back to the RFP search.
- Walk to get coffee.
Before issuing an RFP for a new CMS and web design, it’s important to ask yourself these 5 questions. After quizzing yourself, it is time to get to know potential vendors. Ask about their company, processes, and relationships before making a commitment. Their answers will enable you to choose wisely.
Brightfind loves PersoniFest. As Personify’s first and oldest partner (too soon for a shameless plug?) we’ve attended almost all of them. Last year we wrote about the top things to do while attending the conference. We decided to re-create the blog for 2017 when we realized last year’s blog was spot-on, so here’s an updated version or ICYMI, a brand new one.
